Grass Roots Gains Momentum

While brother Freddie Mac (FMCC) and Cousin Fannie Mae (FNMA) struggle to recover from the mortgage crisis, Farmer Mac gets busy gaining momentum.

Food, Water, and Flight? Another ticker I found interesting in this current market environment is the American Water Works Company Inc traded on the NYSE (AWK). I’m interested in AWK simply because it’s another name in the Municipal Utility bucket that I’ve never heard of. AWK has come down significantly in the past year, although I would be weary of the stock finding support around $100, I could understand why someone would purchase a 2-year LEAP and short the weekly on AWK.
